Cost of College Education

I know of many people who still seem to think that college is unreasonably expensive for lower income families . In fact, this is hardly the truth - the federal government provides generous financial aid to students in this category. I've been working within the system for 6 years now, and while I will graduate with a fair amount of debt, I think having debt is much preferable to having no education, and no chance at a good job. More importantly, my parents have never had to pay a cent. The most effort they've had to undertake during the entire process was to pull out their tax forms and quote me some numbers. It takes us about 30 minutes a year.

Well, now this should be obvious to everyone. Stanford has just dropped tuition, room, and board costs for students whose families make less than $60K, and tuition costs for families that make less than $100K. Who will follow? I can't wait to see.

It's about damn time. No one should ever believe they can't go to college because of funds. Your academic ability and desire to learn should be the sole determining factors.
