Graduation

I've told myself about 30 times that I would write a post in here, but I just haven't quite gotten it done. So here I am, good or bad, and I'm going to publish this, however it turns out.

So the first piece of important news is that I have (finally) graduated. I now have a piece of paper that says that I know how to do science to computers. Yay.

Now I am working on getting a job, and hopefully before mid-February, as I have no particular way to get rent for March otherwise. I've heard from several recruiters and a company back east, but so far I'm not sure what's up with that.

Anyway.

It's ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS being graduated. I've had time to learn all sorts of things that I never would have been able to before. I have giant stacks of books I've been going through, as well as trying to pick an open source application that needs TLC from me. I was halfway to joining calibre before I found stanza, which is so much better it puts to shame the thought of using anything else. And then I thought about adding 360 NXE support to ushare or pymediaserver. But I haven't contacted either of them yet. I rather wish I knew some people working on open source software.

I've been using google reader a lot; it's great fun. And also Friendfeed, which is nifty. A good way to have discussion on topics with your online friends.

That's about it for now. Oh, the zune software is really cute. And no, you don't need a zune to use it. But it's funny, sharing with my 360 works great in OSX and Linux, but I can't get it to work in windows any way I've tried.
